My Christmas Presents

In Christmas I got two presents.

My Christmas presents are wood worx and Lego.

These are the presents that I picked.

I build the monster truck by myself.

But I haven't open the box of Lego yet.

The Lego box is too hard to open it.

So I opened the box of wood to make the monster truck.



It's fun to build the monster truck.



And I think that it's easy to stack the Lego.

The Best Pet

If you want a pet, go to the pet shop. Look around and choose one.
Some people have fish, some have dogs, some have cats and some have birds.
Some pets are lazy such as Guinea pigs. The easiest pets to take care of are tortoises. The pets that need a lot of attention are dogs. Some pets make you laugh such as parrots.
It's fun to have pets.

Energy Use And Emportance

If we don't have wind:
The windmill won't turn.
We can't use the a/c that uses wind.
There's no way to be cooler in a hot day.
It can't make the sea/lake shiny.

How To Help My Mum

Firstly: When your mum was hanging up clothes ask her if she need help.

Next: If she said yes be happy to help.

Then: Put the clothes on the hanging line.

Then: Peg the clothes.

Lastly: Your job is done.

My Favourite Music/Song

My number 1 favourite song is Carwash. Because the tune is beautiful. In the song it has many different people singing. I like the ending of the song.

My number 2 music is a piano solo called Sea Song. I like it because it uses minor and the tune is sad.

Number 3, I like the dance of Footloose. It's my favourite dance because it's active, happy and playful.

Christmas day

One day it was Christmas. Everywhere was snowing.

Somewhere even had a snowstorm.

Everyone was playing snow except Johnny.

Every houses window was blocked with snow. Even the doors were blocked.

Johnny thought it was cold outside so he wouldn't go outside.

He saw his friends playing outside with snowballs.

Now he was ready to go outside and wore his jacket and his boots.

Now finally he got outside to join his friends in the game.

A very good home English teaching material - SRA Specific Skill Series

Because of the non-English background, it's always a problem for many migrant families to find a better way to improve their kids' English.
Even most of us have received Tertiary or even higher education, we don't feel confident enough to teach our kids English at home.

Many friends said don't worry in the end they (the kids) will master the skill and English is always their first language.

But as parents, we always demand our kids have a good begining from the start line. (Maybe that's why Asian people are regarded as very ambitious :)).

Early this year, my friend recommed SRA Specific Skill Series to me. Kevin has tried a few books and they are really good!

Altogether the Series contained 10 levels: Picture Level, Prep Level, A, B, ..., H.
The book says it's better for the child to start from the leverl which is a bit lower than his/her real level. So I let Kevin start from Level A. But A is really too easy for Kevin. We are currently working on Book C: Work whin Words.

The best part of the book is that it is composed by short articles or questions and most of them are multi-choice questions. Kevin has great interest in doing them as he's pround that he can finish them so fast and thus he establishes more confidence in doing them.

I think the purpose of this series is very similar to those TOEFL or GRE books in China. They are trying to get the students expose to as many types of questions that may appear in real exams as they can and of course the students would then get used to those questions and do better in future exams.

More reasons for the gift from Santa

Dear Santa:

My mum told me to write more reasons because I don't have the reasons in the first letter.

I'm very good at maths, art and piano so can I have the Christmas gift?

太鼓达人

每天LG与Kevin都要在弹琴问题上斗争一番。
这也是寥寥可数的引起家庭斗争的事端之一。
Kevin本来还算喜欢弹琴，特别是对他放任自流的阶段，他可以随心所欲地挑选自己喜欢的曲目或者干脆自己创作！而且Kevin的荷兰籍老师也是闲散派作风，对进度没有一点要求。
但当LG发现源自前苏联派的和中国派的钢琴老师都特别注重指法而采取枯燥式练习后，琴房里的气氛就越来越凝重了。
Kevin虽然长的人高马大，可毕竟还刚小，而且长了一双小肉手，摸着软软的很能引起大人们对他的宠爱，一到钢琴上就问题来了，力量不够。
可是昨天弹琴时段，气氛意外祥和，正奇怪呢，LG前来报告说，今天Kevin的手指出奇地好，而这居然归功于我！因为Kevin近来一直专注于攻克我装入PSP的太鼓达人游戏！拇指和食指的灵活度和力度就这么在鼓棒和鼓槌的切换间得到升华！
谁说玩游戏是玩物丧志呀！

On The Aeroplane

On 22/9/08 I flied from Sydney to Shanghai by aeroplane.

I'm taking a holiday in Shanghai.

On the aeroplane I had two bowls of noodles, two bowls of salad and a bowl of fruits. I also had a Tim Tam and a coffee cake. I like the food on the aeroplane.

I saw a city.
I saw some clouds.
I saw the aeroplane moving away from Australia.
I saw the sea.

I read Black Beauty and played a 3D puzzle. I also had a nap.

I felt a little bit bored but I was still very excited to take aeroplane.

the little soldier

I found a little soldier in my garden.

It seems like it was made years ago when the war started.

I guess it stands for ANZAC.

In some shops there are some little soldiers for sale.

It's something special.

I hope I could find another one.

Different lizard

Lizards are different. Lizards has special names such as iguanas, goannas and other types.

some are poisonous some are not poisonous.

No one should kill lizards because they are part of the nature.

Different flowers

Different flowers have different colours. Some are pink, purple, blue, yellow and white.

Different flowers have different names. some names are rose, sun flower, peach blossom and Petunia.

Most of the women/girls like flowers. Least of the men/boys like flowers.

Some flowers are special for animals but not every animal.

Listen to a story about flowers. One day a girl is picking flowers. Then a person with a sack came. In the sack there are seeds for sell. "Can I buy some of your seeds?" Asked the girl. "Of course you can." said the person.

Every girl shouldn't act like this girl.

Girls shouldn't act like this because girls could be tricked by bad guys.

My Birthday gifts

On my Birthday I received four gifts.

My presents are Bacugans, Lego truck, 101 Family game centre and toy motor bike.


In the Bacugan pack, there are three Bacugan balls and six cards.

In the Lego truck box, there are Lego blocks. I can use them to build a truck.

The 101 Family game centre has lots of games in one box, such as snakes and ladders, chess, draughts, backgammon, pachisi, Chinese checkers and pick-up sticks.

In the motor bike pack, there are many parts. I need to use them to asemble the motor bike.

I like my gifts.

Cloudy days

In cloudy days, only black clouds can make rains.

Some people catch lightning in the sky with a camera.

Some storm sounds loud, other storm sounds quiet.

Some people think god is making the rain and storm.

Today I watched beijing olympic

Today I watched Beijing Olympic Games. I watched table tennis, badminton, vault and swimming.

Australia is 2nd in 1500m men's swimming.

China is 1st in women's badminton.

I wish I could go to Beijing to watch Olympic Games.

My holidays

My holidays is fun.

I went to snowy mountains for three days and lived in the motel two days.

I also went to play mini golf.

My friends went with me to snow mountains to ski and we also played mini golf together in Sydney Olympic Park. Their names are Ada, Alfred and Lisa.

In Snowy Mountains my favorite thing was playing snow.

In Thredbo I had a lesson for two hour to learn how to ski .

I found it was hard to walk on ski shoes because they were very heavy. I had to bend my knees and it was very tiring. But I still like skiing.

The mini golf yard has eighteen holes and each hole is placed in a different spot.
My friends and I need to hit the ball into the holes. It was our first time to play golf and all of us enjoyed it.

My girl friend

I saw my girl friend outside a shop this afternoon. Her name is Renee.

When we were playing a game she always tried to be the boss. But i'm taller than her.

I don't like anyone to be a boss in the game.

My library card

The day before yesterday I went to the library. I applied for a card from the library.

Now I can use my own card to borrow books.

The first book that I borrowed is called what is peace. All of the pages are interesting. I also borrowed three VCDs.

I like the library because there are a lot of books.

My gardens

My gardens are beautiful because there are a lot of plants.

There are two gardens in my home: one is in the front, the other is in the back.

We have a mandarin tree, a few banana trees, a lemon tree, a few pawpaw plants and roses.

The banana trees are in the front of the house. All the others are in the back garden.

It was fun and I didn't want to leave.

It was very far from my home because I live in Greystanse but the Snow Mountain is in Thredbo.

Kevin at art school

I have done a glass painting today. I did it nicely.

My art teacher likes my art work. My Mum and Dad love my art work too.

The truth of the Tooth Fairy

Kevin was very exited. He lost another tooth. It's his third front tooth so it would be a very import tooth and he could get a big reward from the tooth fairy tonight.

When Kevin was happily trying to show me the tooth, he suddenly realized that it was missing from the table.

Kevin could not find it anywhere. He was very upset.

It was bed time. Kevin quielty lay down. He called me and cried. He said he was still missing that lost tooth and he was upset that the tooth fairy couldn't use it as a brick for her castle's wall.

I told Kevin, as he would be almost 7 now, I decided to tell him a truth - There is no tooth fair in the world. It's just a beautiful story created by adults to comfort the little ones who lost teeth.

I said to Kevin, his other important fallen teeth were kept by me and of course I left the coins for him.

Kevin smiled again. He asked me to show him his teeth one day and fell asleep.

Will it be so nice and easy when I have to tell him the truth about the Santa one day?
